INDEPENDANCE DAY CELEBRATION

Today on 15th August 2026 ,Army Goodwill School, High Ground, Anantnag marked India's 80th Independence Day with great patriotic fervor, joy, and unity. The vibrant campus resonated with national pride as students, educators, and guests gathered to honor the nation’s historic journey.The ceremony commenced with the proud hoisting of the national Tricolour, accompanied by a resounding and disciplined rendition of the National Anthem. The prestigious event was graced by Chief Guest Ms. Roohi Jan, Assistant Professor at the University of Kashmir. Also present as honored guests were Major Ajay Bhardwaj and Akash Kumar, Adjutant from 1 RR. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by the school leadership with traditional greetings. The formal proceedings paved the way for an engaging cultural showcase organized entirely by the students. The lineup featured energetic folk and patriotic dance performances, stirring speeches paying tribute to freedom fighters, and an entertaining laughter show that drew cheerful applause. A significant highlight was a poignant, thought-provoking theatrical skit centered on drug abuse awareness, powerfully conveying the importance of healthy choices, vigilance, and youth empowerment in building a stronger society.During their addresses, the distinguished guests commended the young performers for their artistic excellence, discipline, and commitment to social awareness. The program drew to a memorable close with an inspiring vote of thanks, the distribution of sweets among all attendees, and commemorative group photographs marking a day of triumph and solidarity.
